Jan began his career in the investment industry in 1998 at Morgan Stanley. He joined Stifel in 2025 from B. Riley Wealth Management, following a 20-year tenure with Scott & Stringfellow, which later became part of BB&T/Truist.

Originally from the Netherlands, Jan has lived in Fauquier County since immigrating to the United States in 1977 and later becoming a naturalized citizen. He studied business and marketing at Buckinghamshire New University in High Wycombe, England.

Jan holds Series 7, 9, 10, 63, and 65 securities licenses, along with life, health, and variable insurance licenses.

He works with clients at every stage of the investment lifecycle—from evaluating current assets and defining long-term financial goals to developing investment strategies, planning for retirement, and structuring effective wealth transfer strategies.

Jan resides in Warrenton, Virginia, with his wife, Pam, editor of Warrenton Lifestyle Magazine, and their golden retriever, Winston. They have three adult children.
